Hi there! I’m Mohd Yusof Yaakob and my nickname is Mylo. I was born and growth at Kg Bandar, Banting one of heritage tourism destination in Selangor. Previously, my village is second capital city of Selangor after migrated from Bukit Malawati, at Kuala Selangor. Even you can see Istana Alaeiddin just in front of my house. Interesting right! Feel free to visit my village.

Talk about education background, I stated at Sek Keb Bandar where located just nearby my house. Then, Sek Men Keb Jugra is my secondary school where I have cycled about half and hour in between of oil palm plantation estate very morning as early as 6.45am to reach my school on time.

After that, I further my study in my favorite field which is Culinary or in simple words is cooking at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) (formerly known as Institut Teknologi Mara) Shah Alam in Diploma  in Chef Training. Cooking is not as easy as I was taught. It's not only cook but covers all aspect of preparation, sanitation, management, production, service, cost control and also communication skill. What the funny things is I have to learn French language as one of university requirement subject. Can you imagine how “kampung boy” like me who eat “belacan” (shrimp paste) speak French who is eat cheese. It is really tough time for me. Anywhere, I managed it at last.

Then, I further my study again straight after completed my diploma in Degree in Foodservice Management. After just 2 weeks jobless, Institut Hospitaliti Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (IHYPJ) offered me as lecturer. I quite excited because it is my first job and also for the first time I left my hometown. They asked me to teach Basic Pastry, Catering System Operation, Hotel Cookery and Kitchen Management. I managed to share my knowledge and my skill for two years before I applied unpaid leave to futher my study at master level at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in MBA Tourism and Hospitality Management.

One of my favorite hobbies is cooking, especially Malay cuisine and pastry. That why, I’m prefer cook at home rather than dine out. My favorite foods are Chocolate Moist cake with Ganache and my mom’s Masak Lemak Ikan Kembung and Tempe goreng sambal.hmmmm…...

Actually, I have skill in carving fruit and vegetable which is been used to décorate plated dish, buffet line and even dining table for special function such as wedding ceremony. I started carve since 7 years ago at Hotel UiTM that was taught by Chef Zain Kutut, silver medalist in Kuala Lumpur Salon Culinaire, 2000 in fruit carving category. Therefore, I’m quite busy in doing class for those who are interested and be wedding dining table decorator in ample time. My leisure time is fulfilled by traveling and gardening but most of the times just stay at home.
